My Commentary: THIS is FASCISM! Working as partners with Egypt’s tyrannical, illegitimate US-puppet, Mubarak, the soulless corporations of the west quickly shut down the service of millions of paying customers for days in order to suppress free speech & revolution for profit! (Tony Long, Wired.com) – 1976: President Gerald Ford orders a nationwide vaccination program to prevent a swine-flu epidemic. Ford was acting on the advice of medical experts, who believed they were dealing with a virus potentially as deadly as the one that caused the 1918 Spanish influenza pandemic. The virus surfaced in February at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where 19-year-old Pvt. David Lewis told his drill instructor that he felt tired and weak, although not sick enough to skip a training hike. Lewis was dead with 24 hours. […] Mass vaccinations started in October, but within weeks reports started coming in of people developing Guillain-Barré syndrome, a paralyzing nerve disease, right after taking the shot. Within two months, 500 people were affected, and more than 30 died. Amid a rising uproar and growing public reluctance to risk the shot, federal officials abruptly canceled the program Dec. 16. My Commentary: America suffered from a previous outbreak of swine-flu in 1976. Interestingly, this particular outbreak began at an Army base in Fort Dix, New Jersey. The background is as follows: after a recruit died mysteriously, an autopsy was performed, & it was determined that swine-flu had caused his death. Testing began & army doctors soon realized that at least 500 soldiers were also infected, though none were ill. Under pressure from health officials, who saw a possible pandemic on their hands, then-President Gerald Ford spent $125 million funding a mass inoculation program – aimed at protecting the American public. However, within weeks, some who took the shot began to develop “Guillain-Barré syndrome, a paralyzing nerve disease. Within two months, 500 individuals were affected, and more than 30 died.” The public responded angrily, and the program was stopped.

The moral of the story: while swine-flu claimed only one victim, the vaccine claimed over 30 lives, & crippled nearly 500 individuals!!

(Carrie Johnson, Julie Tate – Washington Post) Justice Department documents released yesterday offer the fullest account to date of Bush administration interrogation tactics, including previously unacknowledged strategies of slamming a prisoner into a wall and placing an insect near a detainee terrified of bugs.

Authorities said they will not prosecute CIA officers who used harsh interrogation techniques with the department’s legal blessing. But in a carefully worded statement, they left open the possibility that operatives and higher-level administration officials could face jeopardy if they ventured beyond the boundaries drawn by the Bush lawyers.

My Commentary: I am absolutely DISGUSTED by Obama’s proclamation that “YES, WE CAN” protect TORTURERS from criminal PROSECUTION! Regardless of his apologist claims, to put war criminals on trial for the horrors they have engaged in has NOTHING to do with “RETRIBUTION” and EVERYTHING to do with JUSTICE!!! “Nothing will be gained by spending our time and energy laying blame for the past,” Obama claims? How about the fact that it would help put an end to the egregious human rights abuses that are STILL CURRENTLY BEING COMMITTED by the American government as a matter POLICY in the name of the “War on Terrorism,” with full “legal” authorization!?

Rayn: Being forced to choose between flawed government systems creates the “FALSE PARADIGM.” Here’s another alternative: How about INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY!? It may not be available right now, but that doesn’t remove it as an alternative, or eliminate it as reasonable way of life! This is vastly superior to being a SLAVE! And, if that answer doesn’t suit you, here’s another alternative: Switzerland. For one, the taxes very reasonable. Unlike here, where everyone but the rich pays 30.8%, almost no one pays over 30% (this is why the rich keep their money in Swiss Banks). Their policies make them one of the richest countries in the world by per capita gross domestic product. Out of their three global cities, Zürich & Geneva have respectively been ranked as having the first and second highest quality of life in the world! Also, as all men are required to join the militia, and must keep their service guns in their home, crime is very low! And, unlike America, the Swiss remain neutral unless attacked!

(Anemona Hartocollis, New York Times) – A month after Gov. David A. Paterson dropped his proposal for a soda tax, New York City’s health commissioner has written an article advocating “hefty” taxes on sodas and sports drinks containing sugar. Such a tax, the article said, could be the biggest boon to public health since tobacco taxes.

The commissioner, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, and Kelly D. Brownell of Yale University, his co-author, argue in the New England Journal of Medicine that a tax of a penny per ounce could reduce consumption by more than 10 percent and raise $1.2 billion a year in New York State alone.

My Commentary: First they taxed the tobacco smokers, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a tobacco smoker…

I wonder if all those sheeple that thought it was such a “great idea” to let our BIG BROTHER government regulate their freedom still believe that they made the right decision. DID YOU REALLY THINK THEY WOULD STOP AT TOBACCO SMOKERS!? Ha!

Hasn’t anyone seen the movie, “I, Robot”? Remember V.I.C.K.I.? Statistically, humans engage in many behaviors that aren’t necessarily good for them. But, if we allow the government to control us based on “protecting us from ourselves,” eventually they will take away our very freedom to even leave our house! Why? Because the world can be a very dangerous place! QUALITY OF LIFE simply does not factor in to the concerted efforts of power-hungry pigs to control our very existence!
