Because of EPA Lie, 9/11 First Responders Continue to Die

I originally posted the following information and commentary onto my Facebook wall…

(Erica Byfield) Every time someone passes away, a part of me dies because I have the job of researching it and collecting data on these passing,” said John Feal, founder of the FealGood Foundation. “I have been to 159 wakes and funerals.”

Feal is the founder of the FealGood foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists first responders who have been injured in the line of duty. His group raised money for a massive granite memorial on Long Island. Each etched name represents a first responder who died from a 9/11-related illness.

My Commentary: Never forget… the EPA declared the air at Ground Zero to be “safe.”

My Strange Experience While Working for NYC’s Department of Health in Immediate Aftermath of 9/11…

The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of my friend, Kala Z, after he shared a photo from here, and I was subsequently tagged within his comments section…

Kala Z.: ….But Christine Todd Whitman (former governor of New Jersey and former head of the EPA) said the air at Ground Zero was safe……

Five and a half years ago, Jon Stewart hosted a panel on The Daily Show with four 9/11 first responders to discuss the health impacts they face and why the Senate should pass the Zadroga Act. The panel reconvened on Monday to press for reauthorization of the Zadroga Act now that it has lapsed - and of the four 9/11 first responders on the panel, two were now too ill to participate and one has passed away...

Rebekah P.: Rayn was there. Sent by the Health Dept. with a group of children (but no masks) to hand out pamphlets.

Rayn: Not exactly, Rebekah… In reality, I worked for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, at 2 Lafayette St., located about six blocks from the former WTC, and at that particular time, as supervisor of the Youth Employment program, my summer group of high schoolers had already completed their jobs, and were no longer employed under me, while the fall group hadn’t yet been assigned.

When I arrived to work on September 12, 2001, the air was smoke-filled, and smelled and tasted like a nauseating, headache-inducing mixture of burning plastic, metal, chemicals, and what I imagined to likely be cremated human remains. Instantly suspicious of the air quality upon exiting the City Hall – Brooklyn Bridge subway station, I kept my hand over my nose, and didn’t dare open my mouth – though the putrid cocktail of death was inescapable. My branch supervisor, Jessica Morris, who was the director of Community Relations, was waiting at the entrance of my building, and when I walked up to her, and waved, she smiled, saying she was glad I showed up, then informed me that my direct supervisor wouldn’t be at work, anytime soon. She then asked me if I wanted to accompany her to Ground Zero to hand out masks to the workers, there. I took one look at the masks she was holding, saw that they were made of mere paper, then looked back at her, confused, and laughed, thinking that she was either joking, or maybe insane (she was late into her pregnancy with twins, at the time). I wanted to ask her, “do you smell what I smell?,” but instead, I quietly shook my head, while saying, “no, I don’t think I want to do that.” In reply, she told me that there would be no other work for me until at least October. I told her that I understood, and happily went right back home, where I wasn’t called back to my job until around mid-October. When I returned, the rotten smell was still lingering in the air! I have never questioned my decision not to enter Ground Zero to hand out paper masks, even once, since that day…

Kala Z.: Glad you didn’t stick around to be poisoned for no reason. You would have so many health issues as a result. (Click Here to Continue Reading This Post)

Blame 9/11 Rescue Workers for Air-Borne Illnesses They Developed, or Blame the EPA and Whitehouse for Their Criminal Conspiracy to Lie About Dangerous WTC Air Quality?

The following debate originally took place on my Facebook wall, upon my post, “Eleventh Year Since 9/11“…

Death Toll Continues after 8 Years for 9/11 Responders:

Rayn: As I lament the great and senseless loss of life that took place on this day in history, I also do my best to celebrate our “Ground Zero” responders, as well. And, since so many are STILL sick and dying as a direct result of their valiant and noble efforts in the weeks and months following 9/11/01, the battles they have been fighting since then should not be ignored! Their betrayal by our federal government is nothing less than criminal, and continues to go largely unnoticed!

Liars Lie and Individuals Die!

The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of my friend, Claudia C…

Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster

Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster

Claudia C.: The true face of Japan is showing, if anyone needed them to come out and admit what the whole world already knew, that the nuclear plant is a major disaster. Why do they have to lie?

Claudia C.: These morons are incompetent, plain and simple.

Rayn: Remember when the EPA lied about the air quality at Ground Zero after 9/11? Much like the nuclear disaster being covered up by the Japanese government for these past few weeks, I believe that the cowards-that-be do this sort of thing for the illusion of control it creates. Bush had Christie Whitman deceive the public in order to keep the economy running full speed ahead, regardless of the damage to rescue workers, and others. I worked at DOH, six blocks from WTC, and on 9/12, the City of New York wanted me to hand out PAPER MASKS at Ground Zero! I literally laughed out loud when my regional supervisor suggested such a thing! How could I ignore my burning eyes, and the putridly saturating, inescapable taste and smell of metallic, plastic, chemical cremated death? So, I went home for the month, while many others went on to become very ill…

The real question we should be asking ourselves is, “why do we need governments to recognize danger in order for us to appropriately respond to it?” Who is in control of whom, here? When did we all become such sheep?

Claudia C.: What is wrong here is that certain people elect to make certain choices that will serve the interest of a minority that happens to those that make huge profits, that represent corporations. The rest of the people, us, we are simply ignored, because, according to these demonic creatures, we don’t really mean much in the big scheme of things, apart from some very much needed votes here and there and work force to make them more money, that, in turn, gives them more power.
