A high school in Illinois has an unusual rule: you don’t get to pick your prom date.

Instead, Aquin High School in Freeport has the boys draw names. Then each boy has to think of a creative skit to use to ask their date to the dance.

() A state lawmaker from Manhattan wants to make it costly for New Yorkers not to vote.

Assemblywoman Deborah Glick, a Democrat, introduced legislation this week that would establish “compulsory voting” in the state and punish those who don’t vote with a $10 fine.

“Mandatory voting would drastically increase civic participation and transform the political arena by making politicians more reflective of the constituents that elected them,” Glick wrote in a memo submitted with the bill.

Idaho Boy Injured, Family Dog Killed by Government “Cyanide Bomb”:

A “cyanide bomb” planted by U.S. predator-control agents targeting coyotes near homes and hiking trails in Idaho exploded when a boy handled the device, injuring him and killing his dog, authorities and relatives said on Friday.

Canyon Mansfield, 14, was playing with his yellow Labrador retriever, Casey, on Thursday afternoon near his home east of Pocatello when he saw what he thought was a sprinkler head on the ground and touched the device, causing it to detonate.

The explosion sprayed the boy and his 3-year-old, 90-pound (40 kg) pet with toxic cyanide gas, according to the boy’s mother, Theresa Mansfield.

The boast was made during an April 2015 phone conversation, according to farmers and others who say they’ve been sickened by the weed killer. After leaving his job as a manager in the EPA’s pesticide division last year, Jess Rowland has become a central figure in more than 20 lawsuits in the U.S. accusing the company of failing to warn consumers and regulators of the risk that its glyphosate-based herbicide can cause non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

(Nikita Vladimirov) Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell believes the leak of CIA documents published this week by WikiLeaks “has to be an inside job.”

“This data is not shared outside CIA. It’s only inside CIA,” Morell said in an interview with “CBS This Morning” on Saturday.

He argued that the data is on CIA’s “secret network” that is not connected to other networks.

“It’s on CIA’s top secret network, which is not connected to any other network. So, this has to be an inside job,” he added.

WikiLeaks published thousands of CIA documents this week, claiming that they describe the agency’s hacking tactics.
