(Dean Balsamini) The city’s police-officers union is cracking down on the number of “get out of jail free” courtesy cards distributed to cops to give to family and friends.

Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association boss Pat Lynch slashed the maximum number of cards that could be issued to current cops from 30 to 20, and to retirees from 20 to 10, sources told The Post.

Hypocrisy Makes for a Great Group Activity!

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “Decolonize the World,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

“Joined #WomensMarch last year. Not marching today.. because I realized these people are marching against 45, not against systemic racism, hypercapitalism, deliberate neglect of the poor, militarism or imperialism. And they wouldn’t be marching if Hillary won. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯” – Crystal @alwaystheself

My Commentary: Politics: because hypocrisy makes for a great group activity!

Corrupt, Cowardly, Caste of Career Criminals Control US Government

I Don’t Want Your Leaders:

(Michael Krieger) In 2017, I wrote a lot about how dangerously centralized our political system in the U.S. has become, and how we need to decentralize governance in order to restore power, liberty and policy experimentation to the local level. This notion that a sprawling and culturally diverse nation of 325 million individuals should constantly battle to the death over the ring of political power in Washington D.C. so as to impose their view on the other half of the country which completely disagrees is patently ludicrous.

My Commentary: Your corrupt, cowardly, career-criminal “leaders” will continue using their rigged “political” system as a means to rob, kidnap, cage, and murder the innocent.

The Danger of Engaging in Perpetual War

As I scrolled through my Facebook memories, I discovered the following link, which I originally posted to my own wall in August of 2016, and decidedly re-shared it, while adding a commentary…

Our Greatest National Security Threat? Perpetual War:
https://www.commondreams.org/views/2016/08/12/our-greatest-national-security-threat-perpetual-war

(William Astore) The United States is now engaged in perpetual war with victory nowhere in sight.  Iraq is chaotic and scarred. So, too, is Libya. Syria barely exists. After 15 years, “progress” in Afghanistan has proven eminently reversible as efforts to rollback recent Taliban gainscontinue to falter. The Islamic State may be fracturing, but its various franchises are finding new and horrifying ways to replicate themselves and lash out. Having spent trillions of dollars on war with such sorry results, it’s a wonder that key figures in the U.S. military or officials in any other part of America’s colossal national security state and the military-industrial complex (“the Complex” for short) haven’t spoken out forcefully and critically about the disasters on their watch.

My Commentary: Not exactly rocket science, and yet, it still remains an ever-elusive concept to most, somehow…

City Workers Busted For Closing Street By United Center So Friends Can Park:

(Heather Cherone) Thirteen city employees have been disciplined for their role in a scheme that blocked off a street near the United Center so their friends and relatives could park for free during Bulls and Blackhawks games, Inspector General Joseph Ferguson said.

Inspectors working for the city’s watchdog staked out 16 games at the United Center from April 2015 to February 2016 — including nine Blackhawks playoff games — and witnessed employees of the Office of Emergency Management allowing 62 cars to park for free on the west side of Wood Street between Madison Street and Warren Boulevard, Ferguson said in his quarterly report released Monday.
