An investigation into 10 recent Chicago criminal cases unearthed the extraordinary reach of the state’s “felony murder rule,” which is being used to cover up police crime, as well as prosecute and incarcerate the innocent, according to a report.
“Among the ten recent felony murder cases…three stem from police officers firing at fleeing vehicles in apparent violation of the department’s ‘deadly force’ policy, which since February 2015 has forbidden the practice,”according to findings by the Chicago Reader.
The revelation came while investigating the case of Tevin Louis, who was charged and convicted of the murder of his friend, Marquise Sampson, even though Sampson was fatally shot by police on Chicago’s South Side.
My Commentary: What if police just start calling their reckless murders of innocent bystanders and car passengers in their pursuit of suspects “collateral damage”? Will Americans start defending their actions? Or, is this practice only acceptable when the US military uses it as a label for the thousands of dead Iraqis, Afghanis, Pakistanis, Libyans, Yemenis, Somalians, and Syrians they’ve murdered in our name, and using our tax dollarsl? #InnocentLivesMatter

The shooting and killing of Korryn Gaines has many debating whether or not the actions taken by the Baltimore County Police were justified. During the shooting, Gaines’s 5-year-old son, Kodi, was shot and injured.
My Commentary: In a series of videos recorded by his family from his hospital bed, Gaines’ son states that he chose to stay with his mother when she was murdered by the State, declining the option he had to leave with his father. He explains that armed State thugs “kicked down the door” of his family’s home, and that he spent time hiding in the closet upon their forced entry into his residence. He recounts how the State thugs fired their weapons at his mother, first, and how he witnessed them shoot her down. He also reveals that the State thugs then shot him in the arm as he tried to run away from them upon witnessing them murder his mother.

(Alice Salles) A deadly knife attack in Japan claimed the lives of 19 people and sent 26 others to the hospital a week ago, yet few major news outlets in the United States picked up the story. Instead of discussing the underlying issues that led to this mass killing or helping the public understand that weapons have little to do with the problem, U.S. outlets often prefer to cover attacks perpetrated by Islamic terrorists or gun-toting madmen, either to satisfy public demand or to perpetuate editorial preference.
