(Ramzy Baroud) Everyone seems to have a theory on how to obliterate ISIS, or ‘Daesh’. However, two points are rarely raised: one, concerning the origins of the group and the second, on whether there are genuine intentions to defeat it, in the first place.

We must boldly address the first to unravel the enigma behind the rise and growth of ‘Daesh’ – otherwise, how else can the group be dismantled.

We must contend with the second point before engaging in superfluous discussions about the most appropriate war strategy – that if war is, at all, the answer.

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “Voluntary Virtues Network,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

My Commentary: Never forget that, in the end, every law is enforced at gunpoint, and under threat of abduction and imprisonment. So, please stop suggesting the use of State violence against peaceful people in your hopelessly naive, pathetically misguided attempt to “help.”

Think volunteer public service is a good idea? Cool! Then, get off your ass, and get to work! Try leading by example, and stop stooping to coercion!

A 17-year-old girl managed to escape being raped by fighting off her attacker as he ripped off her clothing. Now police say she will be charged with a crime for defending herself.

The teenager was attacked around 10p.m. by a man described as “dark-skinned” in central Sønderborg, Denmark.

Target to Spend $20 Million on Single-Stall Bathrooms After Backlash to its Restroom Policy:

(Sarah Halzack) Target said Wednesday it is preparing to spend $20 million in the coming months to add single-stall bathrooms along with men’s and women’s restrooms in its stores, a move meant to accommodate shoppers who have expressed concern about the retailers’ policy of allowing customers and employees to use the bathroom that corresponds to the gender they identify with.

“Some of our guests clearly are uncomfortable with our policy, and some are really supportive,” said Cathy Smith, Target’s chief financial officer, in a conference call wither reporters.
