(Brian Cohoon, LewRockwell.com) – There was a day in America when we, the people, had great respect for the police. When they would ask you how you are doing, they sincerely wanted to know because they cared. That day has passed with barely a whisper or complaint. Today when a cop (they prefer to be called Police Officers, as they feel “cop” is somewhat derogatory) asks you how you are, they are not doing it because they care but rather to set you at ease so you feel that their follow-up questions are friendly and benign. Since for most of us, our likely contact with the police is during a traffic stop (this is actually an arrest. If you do not believe this, try and leave the scene of the top, or not stop in the first place), and the follow-up questions inevitably will be:

  1. Where are you coming from (sic)?
  2. Where are you going?
  3. What are you doing?
  4. Do you have anything illegal in your possession?

My Commentary: It is the job of cops to intimidate you into incriminating yourself. So long as they can pretend a crime was committed, they are ensuring their own future job security. It is a glaring conflict of interest! And, they love to nab people for victim-free “offenses.” This type of busy-work keeps them from having to deal with real criminals, and situations that could potentially put their lives in real danger. Remember, the Prison Industrial Complex is mostly privatized now. Convicts in private prisons can be put to work for 25 cents an hour or less. So, it makes sense to fill jails with productive, functional citizens, rather than dysfunctional, violent offenders. They make much better SLAVE LABORERS! Research it! The same companies who own prisons lobbied for (and won) mandatory drug sentencing, and the “three-strikes” rule. No one should be accountable for failing to follow man-made laws! They are so unfair that they aren’t even clearly posted, and require no victim in order to be broken! The whole thing is a RACKET!

(Carlos Miller) – In what should send a frightening chill down the spine of every blogger, writer, journalist and First Amendment advocate in the United States, Phoenix police raided the home of a blogger who has been highly critical of the department.

Jeff Pataky, who runs Bad Phoenix Cops, said the officers confiscated three computers, routers, modems, hard drives, memory cards and everything necessary to continue blogging.

The 41-year-old software engineer said they also confiscated numerous personal files and documents relating to a pending lawsuit he has against the department alleging harassment – which he says makes it obvious the raid was an act of retaliation.

My Commentary: Would it surprise you to know that, apparently, the First Amendment is reserved ONLY for those citizens that choose NOT to criticize the American Police State? If your answer is “yes,” then you obviously haven’t been paying attention!

(BioPharm Bulletin) – Celvapan, the first cell culture-based H5N1 (avian flu) pandemic vaccine, has moved closer to approval in the European Union. On December 18, the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMEA), issued a positive opinion, recommending market authorization for the vaccine, made by Baxter International, Inc. (Deerfield, IL).

The positive opinion precedes the licensure of the “mock-up” vaccine, which allows Celvapan to be used if the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declares a pandemic. The positive opinion was based on results from a comprehensive clinical development program, including a Phase 3 clinical trial that demonstrated vaccines for two different H5N1 virus strains were well tolerated and generated a functional immune response.

My Commentary: Due to the fact that the world narrowly averted a global avian flu pandemic this month due to the diligence of the good individuals at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Canada, I decided to further research the topic today, and came upon this article, dated January 19, 2009. As it turns out, the company responsible for almost causing the above-mentioned bio-disaster, Baxter International Inc., just so happens to own the rights to “Celvapan,” the world’s first cell-culture based H5N1 (avian flu) pandemic vaccine! Apparently, though it’s still in trial stages, it is very close to receiving full market authorization from the European Union. In other words, if a global avian flu pandemic ever did take place, Baxter International would be in a position to make a great deal of money!!!

My Commentary: Illinois-based pharmaceutical company, Baxter International, was caught this month attempting to distribute Influenza vaccines contaminated with deadly live Avian Flu Virus to 18 different countries around the world, putting the entire human population at risk, and almost causing a global avian flu pandemic. Upon discovering both H5N1, and the human form, H3N2, in what should have been flu vaccines, the National Microbiology Laboratory in Canada thwarted the efforts of Baxter International by alerting the World Health Organization, who took quick and decisive action to prevent pathological disaster.
