SCANDAL: Trump Foundation Reported Charitable Donations It Never Made:

(Karoli Kuns) In the current maelstrom of media handwringing over ‘deplorables’ and Clinton’s pneumonia, David Fahrenthold’s bombshell report for the Washington Post has fallen into third place, but it definitely should not.

According to Fahrenthold, Trump’s charity does not give any of Trump’s money. It is, instead, used as a pass-through from other people to charities. This is perfectly legal, but it belies his claim that he gives millions to charities.

Worse yet, there are five contributions to charities which the Foundation claims it sent, but which were not received. The largest contribution has already been explained — it is the $25,000 impermissible donation sent to Pam Bondi shortly after she decided not to investigate Trump University.

() Twelve American soldiers face charges over a secret “kill team” that allegedly blew up and shot Afghan civilians at random and collected their fingers as trophies.

Five of the soldiers are charged with murdering three Afghan men who were allegedly killed for sport in separate attacks this year. Seven others are accused of covering up the killings and assaulting a recruit who exposed the murders when he reported other abuses, including members of the unit smoking hashish stolen from civilians.

In one of the most serious accusations of war crimes to emerge from the Afghan conflict, the killings are alleged to have been carried out by members of a Stryker infantry brigade based in Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan.

(n a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court that is still working its way through the legal system, a Pennsylvania woman claims that New Castle police officers violated her civil and constitutional rights during a traffic stop back in Nov. 2013.

Kimberlee Carbone says she was pulled over under the pretext of not “apply[ing] her turn signal at least 100 feet before the intersection” as per Pennsylvania law, before she was forced to endure five hours of humiliation. Officer David Maiella had made the stop after seeing a man “briefly enter an apartment” and then get into Carbone’s car that he suspected of buying drugs, according to the lawsuit.

(Thomas Zambito) The pulverized remains of bodies from the World Trade Center disaster site were used by city workers to fill ruts and potholes, a city contractor says in a sworn affidavit filed yesterday in Manhattan Federal Court.

Eric Beck says debris powders – known as fines – were put in a pothole-fill mixture by crews at the Fresh Kills landfill on Staten Island, where more than 1.65 million tons of World Trade Center debris were deposited after the Sept. 11 attacks.

“I observed the New York City Department of Sanitation taking these fines from the conveyor belts of our machines, loading it onto tractors and using it to pave roads and fill in potholes, dips and ruts,” Eric Beck said.

Update: Department Of Homelessness Renews Effort To Dismantle Tent Encampments Citywide:
http://sfist.com/2016/09/09/department_of_homelessness_and_sfpd.php

(Jack Morse) The newly created Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing is set to begin the process of removing every single homeless encampment in the city — tent by tent. CBS 5 reports that the department’s deputy director, Sam Dodge, laid out this goal in conversation with the channel at the same time as SFPD Northern Station Captain John Jaimerena was telling Hoodline that his officers have no plans to take down encampments as it isn’t illegal to be homeless.

“We’ve seen an increase in encampments in the Mission district between 14th street and 19th street and South Van Ness and Harrison,” Dodge told CBS 5. “To try to go person by person, offer everyone at least shelter so that we can resolve an encampment.”

When pressed by CBS 5 if to “resolve an encampment” meant “taking them down,” Dodge replied, “yeah, that’s right.”
