Ruled by Compassion!

The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of my friend, Brooke N, after she posted artwork being shared by the page, “The Mind Unleashed“…

Brooke N.:

“A message to those in the world that want to spread fear and anguish by murdering innocent people. You will not succeed. Our hearts are filled with love and fearlessness, even as we ache for those that suffer by your hand. We are ruled by compassion and have the bravery to be unafraid in the face of your terror campaign. We will breath into peace until you are no longer. (share for peace)”

Alice C.: Shared, thanks Brooke.

Rayn: Selah!

Calvin B.: Not a bad plan

Doublethinking About Terrorism

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “The Anti-Media,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

"Anytime a bomb is used to target civilians, it is an act of terror," [says the man who] bombs Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan

“Anytime a bomb is used to target civilians, it is an act of terror,” [says the man who] bombs Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan

My Commentary: Recently, child-bombing Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Barack Obama, was kind enough to define the highly confusing term, “terror,” for the American public. It’s a good thing we have such noble politicians like him to make things clear for us lowly commoners -taking time out of his very busy schedule just to help us double-think our way through the ever-nagging cognitive dissonance that comes from accepting civilian murders as a form of AMERICAN political policy, while simultaneously condemning the use of such tactics by others!

Thanks, lizard! Without your efforts, the public might be forced to rely on notoriously unreliable tools like common sense and critical thinking when considering serious matters like these!

Discussing My Artwork, “Torture is Terrorism”

The following correspondence originally took place on my Facebook wall, upon my artwork, “State-Sponsored Torture is Terrorism“…

Rayn: Created in January of 2009 using Photoshop.

Sara: This makes me sick but sends a message that everyone needs to hear!

Rayn: Sickening, indeed. I started making this when Bush was in office, but didn’t finish until Obama was in. I wasn’t sure if I should put it up, at first, as I had a small twinkle of “hope” that things would “change.” However, I decided that, if anything, the timing was fine because this piece might inspire people to push our new president to investigate, prosecute and cease all abuses occurring at Guantanamo Bay’s Camp X-Ray, as opposed to the “under rug swept” mentality that might perpetuate these war crimes in future possible war scenarios.

Sadly, Obama did very little to change the situation, and later, began actively involving himself in the cover-up, by refusing to authorize the release of many more photos of abuse that were discovered after the original scandal broke headlines.
