My Commentary: Listen to the message shared by this brave woman!
The following correspondence originally took place on my Facebook wall, upon my post, “When it Comes to War, Life is Top-Heavy With Hypocrites“…
Rayn: Sad… Life is top-heavy with hypocrites.
Mehrdad S.: Terribly sad! We should ponder as to what happened during those 5 years.
Rayn: Obama happened. He filled the Anti-War movement with so much hope, they decided to take a four-year nap!
Mehrdad S.: To reach their ends, the politicians and the profiteers have brought the media under their control, which is no longer the “Mass Media”. It has been bought up and turned into Corporate Media at the service of what is no longer a “Democracy”, but a Corporatocarcy, a main element of which is the Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex (and you rightly incorporated “Knowledge” into that). In 1983, 50 corporations controlled the majority of the news media in the US. Even then, this was considered a Media Monopoly. In 2004, only 5 corporations controlled the lion share of the US media industry (Now, I presume it might be even less). And the corporate media has been constantly at work, “Manufacturing Consent” of the people for the corporatocracy’s bloody projects of wars and suppression overseas, coupled with abolishing the hard-gained Civil Rights in the US itself. That might partly explain the big difference between now and 2007.
Rayn: Indeed, Mehrdad! The Mainstream Media Monopoly most definitely manufactures the consent of the governed! And, they typically utilize the Hegelian Dialectic of PROBLEM-REACTION-SOLUTION to do it… It’s sad, really… to know just how predictably herd-like the majority becomes in the face of “danger” and in the name of “safety”…
Mehrdad S.: True. They have a great number of psychiatrists and “academics” at their service who give them advice in their projects of horror mongering. There should always be something to horrify the ordinary people. Otherwise, what would be the future of the military-security-industrial complex ?
As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “End U.S. Wars and Occupations,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

The Anti-War Origins of Mother’s Day:
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20070513_the_anti_war_origins_of_mothers_day/
In 1870, Julia Ward Howe responded to the horrors of the Civil War by issuing her “Mother’s Day Proclamation,” calling on women around the world to rise up and oppose war in all its forms.
It would be decades before Americans officially began celebrating Mother’s Day, and much of the original spirit of the proclamation has since been lost.
My Commentary: Do a little research to re-inject the meaning into Mother’s Day!
The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of an ex-acquaintance…
Chris C.: Perhaps I am a Libertarian? “Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy & taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market and defend civil liberties.”
Yamashita K.: I told you this Chris!! You are not a repub, you’re not a dem… you believe in limited government and the liberties promised to us 230+ years ago!!!
Chris C.: Yes I remember you telling me, Yamashita! At the time, I don’t think I fully understood what it was. But it seemed interesting. I never had considered myself repub or Dem anyway. My views didn’t really seem to align completely with either one. And then my friend Rayn had been telling me a lot about this Libertarian party. And the more I learn about it, from her especially (and you of course!), it really seems right up my alley and makes a lot more sense than any political mumbo jumbo I’ve heard before. I’m likin it!
Yamashita K.: I hate it when people mass me in with conservatives ALTHOUGH I am FAR more “republican” than I will EVER be democratic…
Rayn: I am amused when people label me extremist because I am against America’s wars! Yet, both Neo-Lib Dems and Neo-Con Repubs are JINGOISTIC WAR-HAWKS – which is SURELY EXTREMIST, considering the body count that comes with it! *sigh* Sometimes, I’m really amazed at just how pathologically pathetic these double-thinking death-worshippers can be!
