Which Side Are You On?

As I scrolled through my Facebook memories, I discovered the following artwork, which I originally shared to my wall in July of 2014, in my post, “Critical Thinking Protects the Mind Against Acceptance of Tyranny,” and decidedly re-shared it, along with a new commentary…

My Original Commentary:

“It is the job of thinking people not to be on the side of the executioners.” – Albert Camus

Critical thinking!

My New Commentary: Damn shame that this has to be pointed out…

Know Thy Enemy!

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “Vote 4 Nobody, Nobody Tells the Truth,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

"If you have the power to hit people over the head whenever you want, you don't have to trouble yourself too much figuring out what they think is going on, and therefore, generally speaking, you don't. Hence the sure-fire way to simplify social arrangements, to ignore the incredibly complex play of perspectives, passions, insights, desires, and mutual understandings that human life is really made of, is to make a rule and threaten to attack anyone who breaks it. This is why violence has always been the favored recourse of the stupid: it is the one form of stupidity to which it is amost impossible to come up with an intelligent response. It is also of course the basis of the State." - David Graeber

You Can Lead a Sheep to Slaughter, But You Can’t Make Him Think!

The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of my friend, Natalie M…

Natalie M.: Docile and meek, the sheep gather so easily to their own slaughter.

Rayn: Once you’re awake, it’s hard to go back to sheep. 😉

Natalie M.: So true Rayn

Rayn: You can lead a sheep to slaughter, but you can’t make him think. 😉

Natalie M.: Lol

Rayn:

“A nation of SHEEP
Shall be ruled by PIGS.”

Sharing Thoughts In Support for, and Encouragement of, Like-Minded Individuals

The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of an acquaintance, after she posted artwork from here

Jennifer H.: A bit of both, actually, but when I start to despair of the former I can always count on latter.

“I don’t share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently. I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they’re not alone.”

Nora R.: Amen.

Rayn: Selah!
