Mubarak Family Fortune Could Reach $70bn, Say Experts:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/feb/04/hosni-mubarak-family-fortune

President Hosni Mubarak‘s family fortune could be as much as $70bn (£43.5bn) according to analysis by Middle East experts, with much of his wealth in British and Swiss banks or tied up in real estate in London, New York, Los Angeles and along expensive tracts of the Red Sea coast.

After 30 years as president and many more as a senior military official, Mubarak has had access to investment deals that have generated hundreds of millions of pounds in profits. Most of those gains have been taken offshore and deposited in secret bank accounts or invested in upmarket homes and hotels.

According to a report last year in the Arabic newspaper Al Khabar, Mubarak has properties in Manhattan and exclusive Beverly Hills addresses on Rodeo Drive.

His sons, Gamal and Alaa, are also billionaires. A protest outside Gamal’s ostentatious home at 28 Wilton Place in Belgravia, central London, highlighted the family’s appetite for western trophy assets.

Al Jazeera’s Cairo Office Burned Down by Pro-Mubarak ‘Thugs’:

(Eric W. DolanRawStory.com) Al Jazeera’s office in Cairo was stormed by a “gang of thugs” and set on fire along with all the equipment inside it, the Arab news network said Friday.

“It appears to be the latest attempt by the Egyptian regime or its supporters to hinder Al Jazeera’s coverage of events in the country,” the news network said in a statement.

“In the last week its bureau was forcibly closed, all its journalists had press credentials revoked, and nine journalists were detained at various stages. Al Jazeera has also faced unprecedented levels of interference in its broadcast signal as well as persistent and repeated attempts to bring down its websites.”

(DemocracyNow.org) Doing the regime’s bidding, British-based Vodafone shut down Egypt’s phone and internet service. The American company called Narus — owned by Boeing — sold Egypt the surveillance technology that helped identify dissident voices.

My Commentary: THIS is FASCISM! Working as partners with Egypt’s tyrannical, illegitimate US-puppet, Mubarak, the soulless corporations of the west quickly shut down the service of millions of paying customers for days in order to suppress free speech & revolution for profit! And, this is only ONE of A NUMBER of cases of corporations from the west working with dictatorships towards the goal of CENSORSHIP!

Here a few other cases worth mentioning:

Corporate US Media’s Woeful, Sanitized Egypt Coverage Amounts To Censorship:
http://www.prisonplanet.com/corporate-us-medias-woeful-sanitized-egypt-coverage-amounts-to-censorship.html

(Steve WatsonPrisonplanet.com)  While the ailing dictatorship government in Egypt is busy rounding up and arresting Al Jazeera journalists in an attempt to control the release of footage and accounts of the mass uprising going on throughout the entirety of the country, the disgraceful corporate American media has once again shown itself to be just as strictly regulated in terms of the content it provides to viewers.

In Britain and Canada anyone interested in following the mass unrest in Egypt can simply turn on the television and tune into the English version of Al Jazeera, which has round the clock reports and uninterrupted live footage from journalists on the ground in Cairo and around the rest of the country.

The channel has been running and offering its content worldwide since 2006, yet unless you live in certain parts of Ohio, Vermont or Washington, D.C., you cannot even access the channel in the US, because the cable carriers are not interested in allowing you to see it.

My Commentary: This is why the internet has become such an important tool of free speech and free press for all of humanity, and why the cowards-that-be should never be allowed to take full control of it! People have become fed up with the GATEKEEPING tactics, ALARMISM and FLUFF PIECES perpetually delivered by America’s mainstream media monopoly, and are HUNGRY for some TRUTH!

My Commentary: Yesterday, US-funded puppet, Mubarak, bussed large packs of armed thugs into Cairo, who began a vicious campaign of murderous brutality against unarmed protesters, resulting in the loss of at least 5 human lives. Of course, Mubarak was only making good on the public threat that he had issued to the people of Egypt one day prior.

What makes this all sickeningly ironic is the fact that the current protests taking place in Egypt began as a protest against the beating death of Khaled Said by Egyptian police officers, sparked by the sucessful protests against dictatorship in  Tunisian .
