The shooting and killing of Korryn Gaines has many debating whether or not the actions taken by the Baltimore County Police were justified. During the shooting, Gaines’s 5-year-old son, Kodi, was shot and injured.

My Commentary: In a series of videos recorded by his family from his hospital bed, Gaines’ son states that he chose to stay with his mother when she was murdered by the State, declining the option he had to leave with his father. He explains that armed State thugs “kicked down the door” of his family’s home, and that he spent time hiding in the closet upon their forced entry into his residence. He recounts how the State thugs fired their weapons at his mother, first, and how he witnessed them shoot her down. He also reveals that the State thugs then shot him in the arm as he tried to run away from them upon witnessing them murder his mother.

David) Last Thursday, March 26th, reporters from Counter Current News, Alternative Media Syndicate, The Anti Media, The Fifth Column, The Greene County Herald, Truth Voice and Cop Block all filled the court room in Xenia, Ohio to witness one of the most bizarre things in the history of the American legal system: a man being convicted of the “crime” of raising money for charity.

Virgil Vaduva is a reporter for the Greene County Herald. He is known throughout Greene County for his tireless activism on several fronts, including fighting for the rights of the poor and homeless. Tuesday, March the 31st, Virgil was sentenced for his “crime” of “panhandling” for the poor. What was the sentence? Judge Murray handed down the maximum sentence of 30 days in jail. He even added extra “punishment” of 100 hours of community service, to be carried out within 90 days.

But there are also significant tax hits that come with getting hitched, or as they’ve collectively been coined, the “marriage penalty.” For example, the 28% tax bracket kicks in at $91,150 of income if you’re single, but at only $151,900 — an amount basic math tells you is less than double $91,150 — for married taxpayers. In addition, single taxpayers start to lose 3% of itemized deductions when adjusted gross income exceeds $258,250; married taxpayers, however, will lose itemized deductions once adjusted gross income exceeds only $309,900.
