Long Before Permit Patty, There Was Jakob Schmidt

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following set of images being shared by an acquaintance, and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

My Commentary: Long before Permit Patty, there was Jakob Schmidt. He’s the good little tax-lemming who ratted out Sophie Scholl and her brother for handing out pamphlets on campus. He had no idea what was contained within their literature, but knew that it was against policy to hand them out. And, this spineless snitch was heralded as a hero – for his mindless subservience, and blind obedience, to the Authority of the State.
