Police Are Guarding the Home of the Deputy Who Resigned Over His Lack of Action in the Parkland School Shooting:

(David Choi) Deputies from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office are guarding the home of the school resource officer who was stationed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School after his family requested the protection, according to multiple news reports on Thursday.

Local Fox affiliate WSVN said it sent a reporter to the Boynton Beach, Florida, home of Broward County Sheriff’s deputy Scot Peterson for an interview when the reporter was met with six deputies “standing guard outside.”

(Alan Blinder and Patricia Mazzei) The only armed sheriff’s deputy at a Florida high school where 17 people were killed took cover outside rather than charging into the building when the massacre began, the Broward County sheriff said on Thursday. The sheriff also acknowledged that his office received 23 calls related to the suspect going back a decade, including one last year that said he was collecting knives and guns, but may not have adequately followed up.

My Commentary: This one’s for the “only the police and military should have guns” cultists, who proselytize for all personal self-defense to be stripped away from innocent and peaceful individuals, by force (of course), and outsourced to agents of the State, also by force (of course) – and take this position with virtually no regard for the quality of service being provided, as would be expected in the case of irrational fanaticism.

() A bipartisan group of South Carolina lawmakers have proposed making it illegal to have saggy pants throughout the Palmetto State.

WCIV reports that House Bill 4957 would outlaw appearing in public with trousers that sit “three inches below the crest of his ileum,” thereby exposing skin or underwear.

This leads to children bullying both in the school environment and later in life in using political tools to control the non-violent actions of others. When children are permitted to learn uninterrupted, and are respected as moral agents, they are less likely to become obsessed with ruling and bullying others as older teens and adults.
