The following correspondence originally took place upon the Facebook wall of an acquaintance…
Daniel Sv.: Who believes that public schooling is not necessarily conducive for acquiring a well rounded education?
Kelly B.: Well, a friend was paying for her son to go to a Catholic School where the teachers were not certified & I helped him study a list of spelling words & they were misspelled. Also, the NYTimes did a huge cover story on the ruse of private schooling. Many teachers are not qualified & you are paying for a name. Maybe it depends on the schools available? I grew up in Western PA & I had openly gay teachers back in the 1970’s. I would say that that was fairly progressive.
Rayn: “I have never let my [public] schooling interfere with my education.”
