American Government, or Individual Sovereignty?

The following debate originally took place upon my Facebook wall, after I shared the lyrics to my song, “America“…

“Structural Corruption”

Anthony T.: This country is pretty messed up, but do you know of a better alternative?

Rayn: Being forced to choose between flawed government systems creates the “FALSE PARADIGM.” Here’s another alternative: How about INDIVIDUAL SOVEREIGNTY!? It may not be available right now, but that doesn’t remove it as an alternative, or eliminate it as reasonable way of life! This is vastly superior to being a SLAVE! And, if that answer doesn’t suit you, here’s another alternative: Switzerland. For one, the taxes very reasonable. Unlike here, where everyone but the rich pays 30.8%, almost no one pays over 30% (this is why the rich keep their money in Swiss Banks). Their policies make them one of the richest countries in the world by per capita gross domestic product. Out of their three global cities, Zürich & Geneva have respectively been ranked as having the first and second highest quality of life in the world! Also, as all men are required to join the militia, and must keep their service guns in their home, crime is very low! And, unlike America, the Swiss remain neutral unless attacked!

New York’s Health Commissioner Calls for a Tax on Drinks With Sugar:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/health/09soda.html

(Anemona HartocollisNew York Times) – A month after Gov. David A. Paterson dropped his proposal for a soda tax, New York City’s health commissioner has written an article advocating “hefty” taxes on sodas and sports drinks containing sugar. Such a tax, the article said, could be the biggest boon to public health since tobacco taxes.

The commissioner, Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, and Kelly D. Brownell of Yale University, his co-author, argue in the New England Journal of Medicine that a tax of a penny per ounce could reduce consumption by more than 10 percent and raise $1.2 billion a year in New York State alone.

My Commentary: First they taxed the tobacco smokers, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a tobacco smoker…

I wonder if all those sheeple that thought it was such a “great idea” to let our BIG BROTHER government regulate their freedom still believe that they made the right decision. DID YOU REALLY THINK THEY WOULD STOP AT TOBACCO SMOKERS!? Ha!

Hasn’t anyone seen the movie, “I, Robot”? Remember V.I.C.K.I.? Statistically, humans engage in many behaviors that aren’t necessarily good for them. But, if we allow the government to control us based on “protecting us from ourselves,” eventually they will take away our very freedom to even leave our house! Why? Because the world can be a very dangerous place! QUALITY OF LIFE simply does not factor in to the concerted efforts of power-hungry pigs to control our very existence!

Enjoy your SLAVERY, America, ‘cuz this battle against our freedom is far from over!

Go Vegetarian!

The Startling Effects of Going Vegetarian for Just One Day:
http://www.alternet.org/water/134650

(Kathy FrestonAlterNet.org) – Sometimes, solutions to the world’s biggest problems are right in front of us. The following statistics are eye-opening, to say the least.

I’ve written extensively on the consequences of eating meat — on our healthour sense of “right living”, and on the environment. It is one of those daily practices that has such a broad and deep effect that I think it merits looking at over and over again, from all the different perspectives. Sometimes, solutions to the world’s biggest problems are right in front of us. The following statistics are eye-opening, to say the least.

If everyone went vegetarian just for one day, the U.S. would save:

  1. 100 billion gallons of water, enough to supply all the homes in New England for almost 4 months;
  2. 1.5 billion pounds of crops otherwise fed to livestock, enough to feed the state of New Mexico for more than a year;
  3. 70 million gallons of gas — enough to fuel all the cars of Canada and Mexico combined with plenty to spare;
  4. 3 million acres of land, an area more than twice the size of Delaware;
  5. 33 tons of antibiotics.

My Commentary: Want to solve the world’s starvation problem, improve your health, and help clean up the environment in a single act of personal restraint? GO VEGETARIAN! Eating meat is a luxury that the human race cannot afford to maintain! Don’t be fooled into believing that it is a natural part of our human “evolution”! Our higher brain functions and bodily strength are based upon PROTEIN consumption, not FLESH consumption! There IS a difference!!!!

“Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.” – Albert Einstein

“One farmer says to me, ‘You cannot live on vegetable food solely, for it furnishes nothing to make the bones with;’ and so he religiously devotes a part of his day to supplying himself with the raw material of bones; walking all the while he talks behind his oxen, which, with vegetable-made bones, jerk him and his lumbering plow along in spite of every obstacle.” – Henry David Thoreau

Police Serve the State, Not the Tax-Payers

Peace Officer Versus Police Officer

Peace Officer Versus Police Officer

Why Fearing the Police Is Not Irrational:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig10/cohoon1.html

(Brian CohoonLewRockwell.com) – There was a day in America when we, the people, had great respect for the police. When they would ask you how you are doing, they sincerely wanted to know because they cared. That day has passed with barely a whisper or complaint. Today when a cop (they prefer to be called Police Officers, as they feel “cop” is somewhat derogatory) asks you how you are, they are not doing it because they care but rather to set you at ease so you feel that their follow-up questions are friendly and benign. Since for most of us, our likely contact with the police is during a traffic stop (this is actually an arrest. If you do not believe this, try and leave the scene of the top, or not stop in the first place), and the follow-up questions inevitably will be:

  1. Where are you coming from (sic)?
  2. Where are you going?
  3. What are you doing?
  4. Do you have anything illegal in your possession?

(Read entire article here…)

My Commentary: It is the job of cops to intimidate you into incriminating yourself. So long as they can pretend a crime was committed, they are ensuring their own future job security. It is a glaring conflict of interest! And, they love to nab people for victim-free “offenses.” This type of busy-work keeps them from having to deal with real criminals, and situations that could potentially put their lives in real danger. Remember, the Prison Industrial Complex is mostly privatized now. Convicts in private prisons can be put to work for 25 cents an hour or less. So, it makes sense to fill jails with productive, functional citizens, rather than dysfunctional, violent offenders. They make much better SLAVE LABORERS! Research it! The same companies who own prisons lobbied for (and won) mandatory drug sentencing, and the “three-strikes” rule. No one should be accountable for failing to follow man-made laws! They are so unfair that they aren’t even clearly posted, and require no victim in order to be broken! The whole thing is a RACKET!

In Phoenix, First Amendment Doesn’t Apply to Individuals Critical of Police State

Phoenix Police Raid Home of Blogger Whose Writing is Highly Critical of Them:
http://photographyisnotacrime.com/2009/04/01/phoenix-police-raid-home-of-blogger-whose-writing-is-highly-critical-of-them/

(Carlos Miller) – In what should send a frightening chill down the spine of every blogger, writer, journalist and First Amendment advocate in the United States, Phoenix police raided the home of a blogger who has been highly critical of the department.

Jeff Pataky, who runs Bad Phoenix Cops, said the officers confiscated three computers, routers, modems, hard drives, memory cards and everything necessary to continue blogging.

The 41-year-old software engineer said they also confiscated numerous personal files and documents relating to a pending lawsuit he has against the department alleging harassment – which he says makes it obvious the raid was an act of retaliation.

My Commentary: Would it surprise you to know that, apparently, the First Amendment is reserved ONLY for those citizens that choose NOT to criticize the American Police State? If your answer is “yes,” then you obviously haven’t been paying attention!
