(Nick Sibilla) Ever since she was a little girl, Fatou Diouf has been braiding hair. And for almost two decades, Fatou has turned that tradition into a vocation by working professionally as a licensed natural hair stylist in Tennessee.

“I never did any other job but hair braiding my whole life,” she said. “I cannot recall a time when I did not know how.”

But in recent years, Tennessee has forced Fatou to pay a staggering $16,000 in fines, simply because she employed workers who did not have a government license to braid hair.

My Commentary: The State-enforced unemployment, followed up by State-sponsored extortion.

(Alex Greig & Helen Powa, Daily Mail) sheriff’s deputy in Knox County, Tennessee has been fired after he was caught on camera allegedly choking a university student Saturday night.

Frank Phillips, 47, was been found ‘unsuitable for continued employment,’ according to a termination notice posted Sunday night on the Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s website.

‘In my 34 years of law enforcement experience, excessive force has never been tolerated. After an investigation by the Office of Professional Standards, I believe excessive force was used in this incident,’ Sheriff Jimmy ‘J.J.’ Jones said.

‘Therefore, Officer Phillips’ employment with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is terminated immediately.’

Owning a Slave-Mastering Monster Through Satire

Free man, Jourdan Anderson, completely owns his former “master”

In Rediscovered Letter From 1865, Former Slave Tells Old Master To Shove It:

(Trymaine Lee) In the summer of 1865, a former slave by the name of Jourdan Anderson sent a letter to his former master. And 147 years later, the document reads as richly as it must have back then.

The roughly 800-word letter, which has resurfaced via various blogs, websites, Twitter and Facebook, is a response to a missive from Colonel P.H. Anderson, Jourdan’s former master back in Big Spring, Tennessee. Apparently, Col. Anderson had written Jourdan asking him to come on back to the big house to work.

My Commentary: This is an awesome use of satire, and because of its tone, I have no doubt that Jourdan’s former monster of a “master” read the letter through-and-through: a pretty good measure of its success! 🙂

Corrupt Government Monopoly on Civil Services Results in Firefighters Letting Home Burn Down

2010-10-06 - Corrupt Government Monopoly on Civil Services Results in Firefighters Letting Home Burn Down

Raheem G.: nope… its called the free rider effect, we’re learning this in intro to pol. right now. the law requires people to pay the fee, but people dnt pay, thinkin that it will get taken care of anyway. they learned the hard way. they had the choice to pay they chose not too… their loss.

Raheem G.they were following orders man, give em a break.

Genaire: So if you are behind on luck due to this engineered economic crisis and are without a job it’s ok to just be homeless now?

Rayn: This whole unnecessary situation was created by the strangle-hold monopoly that our local governments maintain over almost all of our civil services nowadays. Too bad there isn’t a REAL FREE MARKET with REAL FREE CHOICE. If there was, some business savy person (or even one dedicated to helping others) would formulate healthy competition to the government-based solution, even by offering a DIFFERENT VERSION of the SAME SERVICE – perhaps a “PAY-PER-USE” version. And, if you think that forms of INDEPENDENCE from governmental oversight sounds impossible, then take a history lesson, because that is exactly how we lived BEFORE our government began ENCROACHING upon our FREEDOMS!

Honestly, with all of the economic issues America is facing right now, if the elected officials in this Tennesse town were intelligent, they would simply charge an INDIVIDUAL RATE to those not interested in subscribing to (or can’t afford) what is, by all technical definitions, a “fire insurance plan” for $75 a year. Why does the State’s SINGLE-OPTION MONOPOLY go UNQUESTIONED as somehow “good” or “necessary”? Choose to pay or get nothing? HOW EXACTLY IS THAT CHOICE!? Obviously, what is at work here is NOT CAPITALISM, but instead, TYRANNICAL STATE-SANCTIONED CORPORATISM (also known as FASCISM)!
