(Dylan Stableford) CNN quietly cut ties with Donna Brazile, the acting Democratic National Committee chair and a longtime contributor on the cable news network, after hacked emails published by WikiLeaks revealed that she had provided questions to the Hillary Clinton campaign in advance of a town hall and debate hosted by CNN during the Democratic primary.

According to a spokeswoman for the network, CNN accepted Brazile’s resignation on Oct. 14.

The emails showed that Brazile — whose role as a CNN contributor was suspended in July after she took over for departing DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — shared with the Clinton campaign a question that would be posed to Clinton before the CNN Democratic Debate in Flint, Mich., in March, and another before a CNN town hall in Columbus, Ohio, a week later.

DNC Lawyers Argue No Liability: Neutrality Is Merely a “Political Promise”:

(Democratic National Committee (DNC) lawyers responded on October 14 in support of their motion to dismiss the class action lawsuit against the DNC and former chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, maintaining that a fair and balanced Democratic primary is just a “political promise.”

“Courts have uniformly rejected attempts to litigate on the basis of purported political promises, including ‘statements of principle and intent in the political realm’” wrote the DNC lawyers. “These decisions have not always been explicit in their reasoning, but they reflect the long-standing judicial understanding that, because they inherently raise serious questions of justiciability and threaten core First Amendment rights of political speech and association, “[p]olitical squabbles are not as easily resolved in federal courts as are some other disputes.”

My Commentary: From the article, “Apparently voters were supposed to assume the DNC was biased in favor of Clinton before the primaries even started.”

Therefore, according to DNC lawyers, the class action lawsuit against the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz should be dropped, and Bernie Sanders wasn’t actually robbed by the DNC…

But, Without Government, Who Would Institutionalize Systemic Injustice?

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by an acquaintance from hereand originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

"American Injustice: Authorities uncovered that Wachovia bank laundered $378.4 billion for a Mexican drug cartel. The bank was fined just $50 million (2% of its profits) and no one went to jail. But, we lock up kids over a dime bag of pot. Let that sink in."

Grim Metric: US Military Suicides Hit Highest Level Since War Began:
http://news.antiwar.com/2012/06/07/grim-metric-us-military-suicides-hit-highest-level-since-war-began/

(Jason Ditz) US soldiers are committing suicide at an alarming rate in 2012, according to new Pentagon statistics reported by the Associated Press. The rate was roughly one per day, with 154 suicides in 155 days. The rate is the highest since the latest round of wars began in 2001.

After hitting a record of 160 for all of 2009, the suicide rate was reportedly “leveling out” in 2010 and 2011. Official studies have struggled to explain the latest rise, attributing it to non-military causes like drug abuse and financial problems.
