Teddy C.: I think the DEA is doing the pharmaceutical industry’s dirty work because it would lower people’s dependence on prescription drugs and thus affect their bottom line.

Tammy S.: So I’m confused. If the leaf helps people to recover from heroin addiction why make it a Class I? Isn’t this a good thing. The attached article says it’s non-addictive.

Government seizes substance whenever possible.
Government law, and enforcement of it, lead to artificial scarcity.
Government law, enforcement and subsequent artificial scarcity, drive drugs into black market.
Government corners black market, as only entity legally allowed to possess substance.
Government monopoly and control over substance drive prices into sky.

DEA Shouldn’t Leave Marijuana in Same Class as Heroin:

(Paul Armentano) The United States Drug Enforcement Administration today rejected a pair of administrative rescheduling petitions challenging the federal classification of cannabis as a Schedule I controlled substance with no accepted medical utility.

The agency’s decision continues to classify marijuana in the same category as heroin under federal anti-drug laws, maintaining that the plant possesses a “high potential for abuse” and that it lacks “accepted safety for use … under medical supervision.”

() A video has surfaced of what appears to be President Obama’s daughter Malia smoking a joint at Lollapalooza.

Eyewitness Jerrdin Selwyn, 18, told Radar she saw the first daughter toking it up during aBryson Tiller set on July 31.

The video is almost certainly of Malia, but whether or not she is smoking a marijuana joint cannot be confirmed. It could be some of that St. John’s Wort or Horny Goat Weed all the kids are smoking at festivals this year.

Nothing wrong with any of this: not the part about control-freaks “regulating” the peaceful right into prison, nor the part about “science” being whatever political parasites say and pay for it to be, nor the part where the higher agents of the State, and their pals, enjoy legal immunity from the tyranny they help create…
