Man With Down Syndrome Murdered By Three Off-Duty Police Working Security for Movie Theater

As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following captioned photo here, being shared by my friend, and fellow Autistic self-advocate, Jason Ross, and originally posted it to my own wall…

ELEVEN DOLLARS On January 14, 2013, a young man with Down Syndrome went with his companion to see Zero Dark Thirty at the Regal Cinema in Frederick, MD. At the end of the movie, apparently because he wanted to see it again, he refused to get out of his seat. A Regal employee, rather than allowing him to stay and dealing with the situation later with his parents and the companion, called not one, not two, but three off duty Frederick County police officers who were working security for the theater at the time. According to published reports, when the officers/ security guards asked him to leave, he mouthed off at them and "resisted arrest". Those of you who know my son Landon can visualize what this would look like. In response, the officers wrestled him to the ground where he asphyxiated in handcuffs. The handcuffs were removed and EMS called and according to the police news release he later died at hospital. I don't know how that reconciles with the coroner's finding of asphyxiation which I thought was pretty immediate. The price of a ticket at the cinema is between $9 and $11. The additional cost to Regal of allowing him to watch the movie again was ZERO. But instead a beloved young man died on the floor of a movie theater in his neighborhood at the hands of people he was taught would protect him.

My Commentary: Rest in Peace, Robert Saylor. It’s a damn shame that you died so young, and so unnecessarily…

“In as much as you have done it to one of the least of my brethren, you have done it unto me.” – יהושוע

What happened to Mr. Saylor is absolutely sickening to the very core, and really boils my blood! It is yet another case of American Fascism, Exposed – revealing the eager escalation to violence that is inherent to all false authority!

Funniest Line in the Film, “Monster Squad”

I originally posted the following video and commentary onto my Facebook wall…

Best Line in “Monster Squad”*:

(*update: original link, which was located here, no longer works, and has been replaced)

My Commentary: Earlier today, I had a hearty laugh after I randomly remembered a funny line from that stupid movie, “Monster Squad.” And, I haven’t even seen it in over 22 years! Ah! Some humor is just timeless. To add to my amusement, I decided to look for a video of the scene on YouTube just now, and found it – under the title “Best Line in Monster Squad”! Looks like I’m not alone on this one! 🙂

A Short Review of the Film, “Surrogates”

Rayn: I just got back from enjoying the movie, “Surrogates,” with Genaire.

Earlene E.: how was it
i was going to see it on friday but saw couples retreat instead

Jonathan P.: You enjoyed that movie? I think it was dissappointing

Rayn: To answer you all, the movie definitely could have been better, but it was entertaining enough! It was at worth at least a single viewing! The writers had a good premise, and therefore, a lot of material to work with, but, in the end, they didn’t do anything truly spectacular with the plot. They had all the makings for something cinematically spectacular and mind-bending, like the Matrix, or even Twelve Monkeys, but instead, opted for a clean, mainstream Hollywood storyline. Rather than be inundated by what seemed like an endless stream of chase scenes and special effects, I was much more interested in understanding the intricacies holding together this story, such as the psychology behind the characters in this movie. I would have liked to learn exactly why each character picked the particular “surrogate” they did, with the look it had. However, this was only superficially explored. There was very little in the movie about how the surrogates affected class distinction – something that would have been very interesting. Also, I would have liked to see more background about the one community that rejected all forms of technology.

Watch the Film, “Public Enemies,” and Learn All About the Crimes of the Federal Government Under Hoover!

The following correspondence originally took place upon my Facebook wall…

“Public Enemies”

Rayn: I enjoyed watching “Public Enemies” at the AMC with her husband and uncle. To Hell with the Federal Government’s farcical “War on Crime”!

Sara: Who did you go with? Paul?

Rayn: Yeah. We actually went on Saturday night, but I didn’t get the opportunity to post about it until today.

Sara: lol that’s crazy! I can’t picture you, Paul and Genaire together at the movies. Glad you had fun 🙂

Rayn: You gotta see “Public Enemies”! It was a great movie! The makers did a lot of subtle things to show you how fraudulent the “War on Crime” was, even from the beginning. Hoover was nothing but a CRIMINAL PIG! He abused every bit of power he was given, and there were many innocent casualties of the federal government’s FALSE WAR!

A Short Review of the Film, “The International”

“The International”

Rayn: I watched “The International.”

Keith M.: How Was It? IM Going To See it On Tuesday.

Rayn: It was good. The plot line could have been a little more involved, but it was worth seeing. It’s not easy to make a movie about the conspiracy of the International Banksters to cause war, exact regime political regime change, and profit from both sides of it!
