(Andrea Germanos) Noted consumer advocate and author Ralph Nader on Friday offered a sharp retort to Laura Bush and Michelle Obama in response to the former first ladies levied criticism at the Trump administration’s cruel immigration policy that separated immigrant children from their families.

“Would be nice if Laura Bush and Michelle Obama had expressed similar heartfelt concern for the tens of thousands of children killed or seriously maimed by the wars of their husbands in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere,” he tweeted.

(Lee Camp) We live in a state of perpetual war, and we never feel it. While you get your gelato at the hip place where they put those cute little mint leaves on the side, someone is being bombed in your name. While you argue with the 17-year-old at the movie theater who gave you a small popcorn when you paid for a large, someone is being obliterated in your name. While we sleep and eat and make love and shield our eyes on a sunny day, someone’s home, family, life and body are being blown into a thousand pieces in our names.

Once every 12 minutes.

The United States military drops an explosive with a strength you can hardly comprehend once every 12 minutes. And that’s odd, because we’re technically at war with—let me think—zero countries. So that should mean zero bombs are being dropped, right?

My Commentary: Bush, Obama, Trump… All straight-up war criminals, and front men for the military industrial complex. Most Americans have allowed the faulty dilemma of team red versus team blue to completely separate them from any semblance of moral consistency… But, just keep voting harder! Everything will be okay…

My Commentary: If you suddenly claim to care about innocent children, but have never spoken out against the American government’s bipartisan policy of drone-bombing innocent children, for fifteen years, straight, and counting… you’re a coward and a hypocrite. Please reevaluate your so-called morality. Thanks.

(Gene Healy) President Obama will deliver his Farewell Address tonight to a capacity crowd in Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center. It’s the right venue for the speech, the president explained last week, because Chicago is “where my career in public service began.”

Indeed, it’s the city where, as a young state senator in 2002, Obama gave an antiwar rally speech railing against the “dumb,” “rash” rush to war in Iraq; and where, as a presidential candidate five years later, he promised to “turn the page on the imperial presidency” and usher in “a new dawn of peace.” And yet, 2008’s “peace candidate” will leave office as the first two-term president in American history to have been at war every day of his presidency, having dropped over 25,000 bombs on seven countries in 2016 alone.

My Commentary: Or, as his supporters say, “no scandals for eight years.” Pffttt! You can’t make this stuff up!

Perhaps, the war hawk should be awarded another Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts?

Oh, and Obama also prosecuted more whistle-blowers than all previous presidents, combined. Or, as he would call it, “the most transparent administration in history.”

Statists gonna State! Try voting harder, next time, voting cattle! That’ll *really* show the government who’s in charge!
