As I scrolled through my Facebook news feed, I discovered the following artwork here, being shared by the page, “Abolish the Dept. of Homeland Security!,” and originally posted it to my own wall, along with commentary…

So, next time you read some pathetic, racist comment under an article or video, don’t be so quick to assume that it’s genuine bigotry – and, NEVER, EVER waste more than a few minutes shutting it down with a reply – since the intent may really just be to anger you, or at least, just to shake your faith in humanity!

(Daniel Miller) The Department of Homeland Security has been forced to release a list of keywords and phrases it uses to monitor social networking sites and online media for signs of terrorist or other threats against the U.S.

The intriguing the list includes obvious choices such as ‘attack’, ‘Al Qaeda’, ‘terrorism’ and ‘dirty bomb’ alongside dozens of seemingly innocent words like ‘pork’, ‘cloud’, ‘team’ and ‘Mexico’.

Released under a freedom of information request, the information sheds new light on how government analysts are instructed to patrol the internet searching for domestic and external threats.

My Commentary: Department chiefs “insisted the practice was aimed not at policing the internet for disparaging remarks about the government and signs of general dissent, but to provide awareness of any potential threats.” Nothing to see, here, folks. Move along…

The Department Of Homeland Security Is Buying 450 Million New Bullets:

(Robert Johnson) The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office is getting an “indefinite delivery” of an “indefinite quantity” of .40 caliber ammunition from defense contractor ATK.

U.S. agents will receive a maximum of 450 million rounds over five years, according to a press release on the deal.

The high performance HST bullets are designed for law enforcement and ATK says they offer “optimum penetration for terminal performance.”
