Penalizing those New Yorkers who choose to Vacate The Vote in an effort to Withdraw Consent is not only an assault against free speech, and freedom of choice – it also represents a shameless effort to run an extortion racket, too! (Glenn Blain) A state lawmaker from Manhattan wants to make it costly for New Yorkers not to vote.
Assemblywoman Deborah Glick, a Democrat, introduced legislation this week that would establish “compulsory voting” in the state and punish those who don’t vote with a $10 fine.
“Mandatory voting would drastically increase civic participation and transform the political arena by making politicians more reflective of the constituents that elected them,” Glick wrote in a memo submitted with the bill.

Earlene E.: I would like to highlight the government removing the subsidy for blood test strips. Diabetics need very frequent blood testing 5+ times a day. The cost of strips is $70.00 outcome reduced blood glucose testing and more hospital admissions from hyper or hypo glycemic Diabetes . . . I am asking if everyone could put this as their status for 1 hour. I’m pretty sure I know the ones that will. Think of someone you know or love who has or has had diabetes. My hope is that in 2017 a cure will be found. Will you post it for 1 hour? To honor those who have fought or are fighting diabetes. 🙂

When combining the officially-acknowledged, yet incomplete, government-reported numbers of casualties from drone strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, and Afghanistan, the most modest possible totals show that between 616 – 1,258 civilians were killed, which includes between 186 – 241 children.

During Obama’s presidency, between 449 – 926 of the above-mentioned civilians casualties occurred (about 72.9% – 73.6% of the totals), which includes between 80 – 112 children (about 43 % – 46.5% of the totals). This is just more bipartisan criminality taking place in the ludicrous, endless “War on Terror.”
Oh, and this doesn’t even include US drone operations occurring in Iraq, Libya and Syria…
