Defend the Job of Police and Blame Those Who Join, or Implicate Both Institution and Individuals as the Problem?

The following debate originally took place upon my Facebook wall, after I posted artwork being shared by the page, “Cop Block“…

Rayn:

"Cops: What my friends think I do, What sympathizers think I do, What kids think I do, What society thinks I do, What I want to do, What I actuallu do."

“Cops: What my friends think I do, What sympathizers think I do, What kids think I do, What society thinks I do, What I want to do, What I actually do.”

Murilo M.The problem is not the police itself, the problem is the people who join the police, there are lots of people out there who are corrupt and violent and evil, and some of these people join the police. It is not the police that is the problem, it is the bad people within the police who are the problem. There is no such thing as an evil institution, there are only evil people inside the institutions who corrupt the institutions.

RaynIn the US, the problem is both the institution, *and* the individual, working together. To begin, as agents of the State, police officers are literally hired, trained and paid to initiate force against, and extort money from, peaceful citizens for victimless “crimes.” The “War on Drugs” serves as a perfect example of this, and truly stands out, right in plain view, as a form of State-instituted Cultural genocide – with daily kidnappings, beatings, murders, imprisonments, rapes, tortures, and forced medical procedures to prove it! To wear the police uniform is to wear the guilt of this ongoing atrocity against humanity. Yet, to even seek out the uniform while being fully aware that police have been, and currently are, engaging in a nationwide “War on Drugs” is also absolutely evidence of individual guilt, too.

Secondly, entire police departments have been exposed time and time again for enforcing rights-violating ticket quotas against citizens as a matter of top-down policy, as well as enacting racist, harassing, guilty-until-proven-innocent-based “stop and frisk” practices, also ordered from the top- down, against communities. Yet again, these are more institutional policies, and once again, they are being willfully enacted by individuals, as well…

Finally, if and when police do get caught engaging in outright criminal activity while on duty, most receive the full and immediate support of their entire department, along with undue time and opportunity to collaborate with each other and review their own evidence before making official statements. And, if they are even investigated after those efforts, it is by none other than more members of the police force, along with various other agents of the State… And, if all of these justice-obstructing activities and agents don’t keep them from the courthouse, then the judicial branch swoops in to dutifully shield these criminal cops from as much responsibility, accountability, and repercussions as possible, whenever possible!

Colonial America experienced an increase in population in major cities during the 1700s. Some of these cities began to see an influx of immigrant groups moving in from various countries(including Germany, Ireland, Italy, and several Scandinavian countries), which directly contributed to the rapid increase in population. The growth in population also created an increase in social disorder and unrest. The sources of social tension varied across different regions of Colonial America; however, the introduction of new racial and ethnic groups was identified as a common source of discord. Racial and ethnic conflict was a problem across Colonial America, including both the northern and southern regions of the country. Since the watch groups could no longer cope with this change in the social climate, more formalized means of policing began to take shape. Most of the historical literature neglects to document the events that took place in the southern region—specifically, the creation of slave patrols in the South.
Slave Patrols
Slave patrols (or Paddy Rollers) first emerged in South Carolina in the early 1700s, but historical documents also identify the existence of slave patrols in most other parts of the southern region .Samuel Walker identified slave patrols as the first publicly funded police agencies in the American South. Slave patrols were created to manage the race-based conflict occurring in the southern region of Colonial America; these patrols were created with the specific intent of maintaining control over slave populations. Three principal duties placed on slave patrols in the South during this time, including searches of slave lodges, keeping slaves off of roadways, and disassembling meetings organized by groups of slaves. Slave Patrols were known for their high level of brutality and ruthlessness as they maintained control over the slave population. The members of slave patrols were usually White males (occasionally a few women) from every echelon in the social strata, ranging from very poor individuals to plantation owners that wanted to ensure control over their slaves. Slave patrols remained in place during the Civil War and were not completely disbanded after slavery ended. During early Reconstruction, several groups merged with what was formerly known as slave patrols to maintain control over African American citizens. Groups such as the federal military, the state militia, and the Ku Klux Klan took over the responsibilities of earlier slave patrols and were known to be even more violent than their predecessors. Over time, these groups began to resemble and operate similar to some of the newly established police departments in the United States. In fact, By 1837, the Charleston Police Department had 100officers and the primary function of this organization was slave patrol, these officers regulated the movements of slaves and free blacks, checking documents, enforcing slave codes, guarding against slave revolts and catching runaway slaves.” Scholars and historians assert that the transition from slave patrols to publicly funded police agencies was seamless in the southern region of the United States.

Peace Officer Versus Police Officer

Peace Officer Versus Police Officer

Why Fearing the Police Is Not Irrational:
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig10/cohoon1.html

(Brian CohoonLewRockwell.com) – There was a day in America when we, the people, had great respect for the police. When they would ask you how you are doing, they sincerely wanted to know because they cared. That day has passed with barely a whisper or complaint. Today when a cop (they prefer to be called Police Officers, as they feel “cop” is somewhat derogatory) asks you how you are, they are not doing it because they care but rather to set you at ease so you feel that their follow-up questions are friendly and benign. Since for most of us, our likely contact with the police is during a traffic stop (this is actually an arrest. If you do not believe this, try and leave the scene of the top, or not stop in the first place), and the follow-up questions inevitably will be:

  1. Where are you coming from (sic)?
  2. Where are you going?
  3. What are you doing?
  4. Do you have anything illegal in your possession?

My Commentary: It is the job of cops to intimidate you into incriminating yourself. So long as they can pretend a crime was committed, they are ensuring their own future job security. It is a glaring conflict of interest! And, they love to nab people for victim-free “offenses.” This type of busy-work keeps them from having to deal with real criminals, and situations that could potentially put their lives in real danger. Remember, the Prison Industrial Complex is mostly privatized now. Convicts in private prisons can be put to work for 25 cents an hour or less. So, it makes sense to fill jails with productive, functional citizens, rather than dysfunctional, violent offenders. They make much better SLAVE LABORERS! Research it! The same companies who own prisons lobbied for (and won) mandatory drug sentencing, and the “three-strikes” rule. No one should be accountable for failing to follow man-made laws! They are so unfair that they aren’t even clearly posted, and require no victim in order to be broken! The whole thing is a RACKET!

Discussing the Desire to Rise Against the Tyranny of the American Police State

Rayn: I am sickened by the AMERICAN POLICE STATE. When will we RISE AGAINST the TYRANNY of EVIL, LYING, ABUSIVE, POWER-HUNGRY, JUSTICE-PERVERTING COPS? These COWARDLY, MURDEROUS, HIRED THUGS bring SHAME to what should be an HONORABLE PROFESSION! They are TOO WEAK-WILLED and MORALLY-COMPROMISED to “SERVE & PROTECT” the PEOPLE. The “PEACE OFFICER” has morphed into the “LAW ENFORCEMENT” CHARLATAN, who believes he is a JUDGE!

We must expose these cowardly frauds to full public scrutiny, or they will continue to commit human rights violations under the guise of “fighting crime.”

Keith: Make a Website about them! And give all the pig’s Rabies!!!!

Rayn: Euthanization would be much more effective long term solution, but I digress. I’m way ahead of you on the website concept. I’m already in the process of compiling data and evidence. There is NO VALOR or HONOR in these COWARDS, THIEVES and FREEDOM-HATERS. Their MAN-MADE RULES and REGULATIONS have BETRAYED us!

Sara: Welcome back to Essex County, where a PIG can be a PIG.

Rayn: Yes. These filthy swine pollute the streets of America with the corruption of their lies, prejudice, brutality, and injustice.

Keith M.: Still Sickened By This!
