A former Romulus police chief awaiting trial in July on corruption charges has pleaded guilty to racketeering, embezzlement and misconduct charges.

Michael St. Andre made the pleas Wednesday at a hearing in Wayne County Circuit Court, where he was scheduled to go on trial this summer. Judge Michael Hathaway is scheduled to sentence him Oct. 17. The racketeering charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors say the chief and a group of five detectives used more than $100,000 in drug forfeiture money to pay for prostitutes, alcohol and marijuana, and to buy a tanning salon for the chief’s wife, Sandra Vlaz-St. Andre.

Discussing Rape of Domestic Violence Victim by Officer Under Color of Law

RaynOfficer Responding to 911 Call Charged with Sexual Assault:

Are you a serial rapist, searching for unfettered access to vulnerable women? Great! Then, a career in law enforcement is exactly the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

According to the victim, she had called police to report domestic abuse from her then-boyfriend. Two armed clowns in costumes showed up. One began interviewing her boyfriend on the first floor, while the victim was led upstairs and into her bedroom by the second. With both his patrol partner, and the boyfriend right downstairs, the second officer proceeded to sexually assault the women, then told her that he would be returning to her home later that day.

Now… understand that the ONLY reason that this criminal was even caught was because his victim chose to file a complaint AND he also left DNA evidence at the scene of his crime. Yet, logic would dictate that he’s been at it for a very long time, and has incrementally been getting bolder and riskier with each attack he commits, arrogantly believing himself to be immune to any real consequences, at this point.

So, my immediate question, upon reading this article, is: how many others did he sexually abuse, and how many happened while he was “on duty” as an officer?

Oniel D.:

“Hey, Lana. Wanna hear a joke?”
“Hey, slothy. Sure. What’s up?”
“What’s Lana spelled backwards?”

Rayn: No devil lived on…

What does that spell backwards? 😉

Oniel D.: Eve lol

(The woman sought help from police after reportedly being assaulted by her boyfriend.

But while police responded to the domestic violence call, one of the officers took the 31-year-old woman into an upstairs bedroom and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.

Detroit police Officer Deon Nunlee has been charged in the Oct. 30 alleged assault. Police said DNA connected Nunlee, who has been on the force since 2008, to the assault.

“I’m troubled,” Detroit Police Chief James Craig said at a news conference Friday. “Certainly, this is the type of criminal misconduct that should never happen by any member of this department or any department for that matter.”

Nunlee, 40, has been charged with three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count each of assault with intent to penetrate and misconduct in office, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
