Stop Treating Marijuana Like Heroin:
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/13/opinion/a-small-victory-for-more-sensible-marijuana-policies.html
Supporters of a saner marijuana policy scored a small victory this week when the Obama administration said it would authorize more institutions to grow marijuana for medical research. But the government passed up an opportunity to make a more significant change.
The Drug Enforcement Administration on Thursday turned down two petitions— one from the governors of Rhode Island and Washington and the other from a resident of New Mexico — requesting that marijuana be removed from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act.
My Commentary: Even mainstream media is questioning the merits of the DEA’s decision on cannabis.

Syrup Smugglers Take on the Maple Mafia:

(Eileen L. Wittig) O Canada – the land of moose and snow, where the drugs are cheap, the people are notoriously nice, and the maple syrup farmers are clapped in irons.
Apparently it is unacceptable for a person to take something from a tree – A. Tree. – put it in a bucket, turn it into magic-tasting sugar, and give it to someone else in exchange for monies, without a government-mandated middle man swooping in on a snowmobile to take most of the sugar, some of the monies, and all of the credit.
My Commentary: The North American economy can be called a lot of things… “Free market” is NOT one of them!

Rayn: The DEA Is Placing Kratom And Mitragynine On Schedule I:

Teddy C.: I think the DEA is doing the pharmaceutical industry’s dirty work because it would lower people’s dependence on prescription drugs and thus affect their bottom line.
Tammy S.: So I’m confused. If the leaf helps people to recover from heroin addiction why make it a Class I? Isn’t this a good thing. The attached article says it’s non-addictive.
Rayn: Government creates law against substance.
Government seizes substance whenever possible.
Government law, and enforcement of it, lead to artificial scarcity.
Government law, enforcement and subsequent artificial scarcity, drive drugs into black market.
Government corners black market, as only entity legally allowed to possess substance.
Government monopoly and control over substance drive prices into sky.

Mainstream Media Admits It May “Never Recover” from 2016 Election:
http://theantimedia.org/mainstream-media-admits-never-recover-2016-election/
(Carey Wedler) In a revealing statement that flew largely under the radar earlier this month, the mainstream media admitted it would never recover from its irresponsible and negligent coverage of the 2016 presidential election. A recent column published in the New York Post referred to the media’s reporting as “the complete collapse of American journalism as we know it.”
In his article for the Post, Fox News contributor Michael Goodwin discussed the media’s pro-Clinton bias – one recognized by supporters of virtually every other presidential candidate, from Bernie Sanders to Jill Stein to Gary Johnson and, of course, Donald Trump. Even Americans who don’t necessarily have a horse in the 2016 race notice the slant.
My Commentary: Less and less are believing in the lies of these spin doctors…
