Happy International Asperger’s Day!

Hans Asperger

I’d like to wish Hans Asperger a happy posthumorous 106th birthday, and honor him for his important research into the Autism spectrum, AND his efforts to protect Autistic individuals from extermination under Nazi eugenics! He’s a true champion of the Neurodiversity movement! To everyone else, happy International Asperger’s Day!

Some parting words from Asperger, himself: “We are convinced, then, that autistic people have their place in the organism of the social community. They fulfil their role well, perhaps better than anyone else could, and we are talking of people who as children had the greatest difficulties and caused untold worries to their care-givers.”
